Crewe's Steve Phillips has criticised Crawley boss Steve Evans for suggesting his Alex team-mate Adam Dugdale should have been sent off.
The Railwaymen were already down to 10 men on Saturday following Shaun Miller's dismissal for a lunge on Town's Sergio Torres when a disagreement between Phillips and Dugdale became a heated exchange as the pair squared up, although the veteran stopper strongly rebuffed Evans' claim that his defender punched him. "That's ridiculous, absolutely ridiculous," said goalkeeper Phillips. "He ought to keep his nose out of other teams. We squared up but for him to say that is outrageous." Alex assistant manager Neil Baker was not impressed by the incident and suggested both players will be facing internal action from the club. "I'm not going to try and cover for them because I think it was indefensible," Baker said. "Of course they have fall-outs, we all have fall-outs everyday and during games emotions are running high. We haven't spoken to the players yet but we will be. "I'd like to think that they can sort it out between themselves. I'm sure they owe quite a few people an apology - particularly the supporters. We'll let them deal with it first before we deal with it."
