Crewe Alexandra manager Dario Gradi was happy to come out of the derby against Port Vale with a point after a 1-1 draw.
Alex did take the lead through Byron Moore but ex-Crewe man Tom Pope equalised just two minutes later. Gradi said: "When we scored I thought we could hold out but when they levelled I was happy to settle for a point as the impetus was with them. "We didn't play too well in the second half and we were under attack for long periods. "They threw a lot of balls into the box and we coped well but we didn't mark properly for a long throw. "It was a shame to concede like that but we didn't create a lot of chances and made a lot of mistakes."
