Teenager Nick Powell faces a wait before he is selected for the Crewe first team again, according to boss Dario Gradi.
The 17-year-old featured frequently at the start of the season but has not appeared since he was sent off in the defeat at Shrewsbury. Gradi wants the highly-rated attacking midfielder to play every week rather than sitting on the senior squad's substitutes' bench. "It will do him good to play in the youth team - that is his age group," Gradi told the Crewe Chronicle. "He is not going to improve dramatically if he is on the subs' bench with me every week. We want him to play."
