Fruitless search for Gradi

Image: Gradi: No luck netting a striker

Crewe boss Dario Gradi remains keen to sign a targetman but says there are few players available to fit the bill.

Gradi has Shaun Miller, Ajay Leitch, Byron Moore and the emerging Max Clayton at his disposal but is struggling to find the right combination. The Railwaymen lie bottom of npower League Two after four straight defeats, and Gradi told the club's official website: "We are finding it difficult to link up with the strikers because it is harder to hit them because they are smaller and we have to try and find them better by playing football. "I would consider getting a bigger one in if I felt he could come in and do better than the two I am playing at the moment. "We have to get Shaun and Ajay to make better decisions when they are on the ball but they have proved they can score goals and be a threat. "If I could find that targetman who would come in and improve us up there and score goals then I would sign him but that won't be easy because they don't really exist out there. I don't expect to find him and we have been looking."
