Crewe defender Adam Dugdale says his side are raring to go ahead of this weekend's opener at Swindon.
The Robins caused a stir earlier this summer when they appointed former West Ham striker Paulo Di Canio as their new manager.
And Liverpool-born Dugdale, who has been arguably Crewe's most improved player of the past year, is relishing the prospect of crossing swords with Di Canio's men.
He said: "They have a new manager and all that but we will just be concentrating on ourselves and what we need to do.
"Everyone has been raring to go for a while. We have worked hard over the summer and played well in pre-season.
"The most important thing is that no-one was injured and I think the supporters are beginning to see the talented youngsters we have coming through here."
