Crewe manager Dario Gradi has offered a trial to former Hibernian and Inverness defender Chris Hogg.
The 26-year-old trained with the Railwaymen on Monday ahead of Tuesday's friendly with Derby having been recommended to Gradi by Colin Todd. Gradi told the club's official website: "I received a phone call from Colin Todd recently and he recommended Chris as he is from the same area in the North East. "He trained with us [on Monday] and looked good, so he will feature [against Derby]. "It's an opportunity for him and perhaps an opportunity for us. "We are looking for a defender who could come in and improve us and hopefully he will fit the bill."
