Crewe boss Dario Gradi has urged elusive striker Byron Moore to make up his mind up about his future at Gresty Road.
Alex have offered Moore a two-year deal, but have yet to hear from the 22-year-old, whose current deal expires at the end of this month.
Gradi told the club's official website: "We're still waiting on news from Byron. He seems to have vanished, but he'll have to come to a decision soon.
"I did receive a phone call from a chief scout asking about him, but he didn't really know about him as a player. I'm not sure if anything will happen there.
"Byron has a lot of potential, but that's what he has. I'm not sure if he's done enough for big clubs to come and take him, but he's a lot of potential and if he does come back here then we'll have a good player we can develop further. The ball's in Byron's court and we will still work on it."
Crewe would receive compensation for Moore if he was to leave and sign for another club.
