Crewe boss Dario Gradi admits he remains none the wiser about the future of striker Clayton Donaldson.
Gradi is still hopeful League Two's leading goalscorer last season will choose to stay at Gresty Road after the board of directors devised an incentive-based offer going forward.
If Donaldson elects to sign a new deal then he would receive a part of any future transfer fee, although the frontman has spoken with his hometown club Bradford.
Gradi told the club's official website: "I've not spoken to Clayton since he returned from his holiday.
"No news is good news I suppose. I don't expect Clayton to stay with us but we have made him the best offer we can.
"Of course he is still our player at the moment and no manager has rang me about him. I hope to make contact with him soon to see if there has been any development."
