Crewe boss Dario Gradi insists he would like Byron Moore to remain at Gresty Road should he decide to stay this summer.
The winger, 23, is out of contract and currently considering his options, but Gradi has not given up hope of seeing him wearing the club's red shirt again next season.
"Byron is entitled to have a look around and if he can do better then good luck to him. If he can't then he is welcome to come back here and prove he can do better," Gradi told the club's official website.
"His attitude has always been fine and we would have no problem whatsoever with him coming back here.
"He was arguably our best player at Bradford on the final day of the season and if he can play at that level on a consistent basis then I'm sure he would move on at some stage anyway.
"The only problem he has is that he doesn't score enough goals. He can score goals and is a good finisher but needs to get in the six-yard box a lot more, he doesn't get in there enough. Clayton Donaldson scored goals because he did that. If Byron does come back in the summer then that is an aspect of his game we will work hard on."
