Crewe Alexandra defender Matt Tootle has signed a one-year contract extension to keep him at the club until 2014.
The academy product, 20, only signed his first professional deal in the summer of 2009 but has enjoyed a fantastic year since breaking into the first-team last November.
He has gone on to make 46 appearances in all competitions, scoring once against Rochdale on Boxing Day.
