Keeper brought in by Gradi

Crewe are poised to sign Bristol Rovers goalkeeper Steve Phillips on loan, skysports.com understands. Alex boss Dario Gradi has lined up a move for Phillips to bolster the goalkeeping options at Gresty Road after seeing David Button recalled by Tottenham. Phillips has just recently completed a two-month loan deal at Shrewsbury and Gradi has moved quickly to bring him to Crewe. The experienced keeper has dropped out of favour at Bristol Rovers and they are happy to loan him out as he is well down the pecking order at the Memorial Stadium. Crewe have struggled to find a first-choice No.1 this season, having had five keepers on their books and Gradi will be hoping Phillips can solve their goalkeeping problems.
