Crewe Alexandra have handed a trial to Floribert N'Galula after ending their interest in Michael Pook and Hamdi Razak.
Skysports.com revealed earlier this month that former Manchester United youngster N'Galula is hoping to secure a return to English football.
His contract with Dutch side Sparta Rotterdam has recently expired and he has been linked with League One duo Stockport and Walsall.
However, he has taken up an offer to train with Crewe for the next three days in the hope of earning a move to the League Two club.
Meanwhile, Crewe boss Gudjon Thordarson confirmed he is not looking to sign Pook or Razak after the players recently trained at Gresty Road.
"We have decided against signing Pook and Razak," Thordarson told the club's official website.
"Pook went to Cheltenham for a trial and I decided against trying to sign Razak because signing another striker is not our priority.
"It would take someone very special to change my mind on that because I have to use what resources I have to sign a centre-back and a central midfielder."
