Crewe have handed trials to former Swindon duo Hamdi Razak and Michael Pook.
The pair are available on free transfers after being released by Swindon at the end of last season.
Both players were given a run-out in Sunday's pre-season friendly with Newcastle Town, with Razak scoring twice in the 7-0 victory.
Alex boss Gudjon Thordarson was impressed by Razak's two goals and he will continue to assess the pair as he considers following up his interest.
"He (Razak) scored two good goals and was close to a hat-trick, said Thordarson. "He seems to be decent player with a good touch.
"He has been playing in the lower Leagues in France and then went to Swindon last season where I had good reports on him. I'll have to assess the situation."
