Histon skipper joins former team-mate at Gresty Road

Matthew Mitchel-King has left Histon to sign for Crewe on a two-year contract. The 25-year-old defender, who was captain at Histon, becomes Alex boss Gudjon Thordarson's second signing this summer. He follows former Histon team-mate Patrick Ada to Gresty Road and is clearly delighted to get a move into League football. "I spoke to a few clubs and a few managers but as soon as I came to Crewe and met with Gudjon and Steve (Davis) I had a good feeling about the place," he told the club's official website. "I knew that it was the place for for me. Looking around the training ground and the stadium and meeting the people just sold it to me. "They are my kind of people and coming up to Crewe was the best feeling I had. "It just felt right and of course I knew of Crewe's reputation for developing players and all the work Dario Gradi has done for the club."
