Algerian international Madjid Bougherra says he could be prepared to stay at Crewe beyond the end of the season.
The Gueugnon defender joined Dario Gradi's side on transfer deadline day, and is currently scheduled to stay in England until the end of the current campaign.
However the 23-year-old admits he may countenance a permanent deal if his time in The Championship proves to be a success.
"I want to progress again and coming to England will let me do that," said Bougherra.
"I have a year left on my contract at Gueugnon, but if things go well here then maybe I will stay longer, we'll see."
