Notts County have secured the services of Andy White on a one-year contract.White has joined The Magpies on a free transfer after being released by Crewe Alexandra at the end of last season.
The 23-year-old had attracted interest from several League Two clubs, with Bristol Rovers and Leyton Orient both having been keen.
But White has opted to sign a 12-month deal at Meadow Lane to end Gudjon Thordarson's search for a new striker.
The Magpies boss has also been boosted by the decision of Steve Scoffham to stay with the club.
Scoffham has struggled with injuries since joining from non-league Gedling Town in February 2004 but the striker has inked a deal for next season.
Meanwhile, the club have taken former Sheffield Wednesday defender Craig Armstrong, who finished last season with Bradford, on trial.
