The promising Wales international has impressed this term and is the latest from the Crewe conveyor belt of young talent to attract interest from elsewhere.

Vaughan's contract extension follows on from Stuart Tomlinson, Mark Roberts and Luke Varney - who have all penned new deals in the past few weeks.

The Asaph born schemer has made 114 appearances since establishing himself as a permanent fixture in Dario Gradi's first team.

Vaughan has won two caps for Wales and will be looking to impress new boss John Toshack in the second half of this season.
