Gradi knows winning promotion back to Division One is vital to the club's future as it will enable them to ward off any bids for highly-rated front pair Rob Hulse and Dean Ashton.
Both men have attracted the interest of a host of Division One and Premiership sides this season and Gradi feels they need to be playing in a higher league to keep hold of all their stars.
"Promotion will mean not having to offload players that I am very keen to keep," said Gradi.
