HARTLEPOOL boss Chris Turner has shrugged off suggestions that midfield star Tommy Miller could be set for a move to Crewe Alexandra, sparking gossip over the identity of The Railwaymen's mystery target.

It was reported that Crewe had enquired about Miller, but withdrew their interest when they were quoted a £1 million price for The 'Pools yougster.

Turner, however, denied that he had spoken to Gradi about the talented 22-year-old, saying: "I have talked to Dario Gradi recently - but certainly not about selling Tommy!"

"We haven't received any offers for him and we are not looking to sell him."

This has prompted speculation as to the player targeted by Gradi, with Rochdale pair Gary Jones and Clive Platt (pictured) being the most likely candidates.
