Millwall have confirmed that goalkeeper Stephen Bywater has had his contract terminated with immediate effect.
The 33-year-old joined the Lions back in June 2013 on a two-year-deal but struggled to hold down a regular first-team place ahead of David Forde.
Bywater moved to Gillingham in August on loan and made 14 appearances in all competitions.
The former England Under-21 international has represented 13 clubs in his career so far, most notably at Derby, making 165 appearances between 2006 and 2011.
