Robinson to monitor Gregory

Karl Robinson will be keeping an eye on Lee Gregory after the FC Halifax striker caught the eye against MK Dons in the FA Cup.

Gregory got the non-league side's goal as the Dons progressed in the competition with a 4-1 win at stadium:mk on Saturday. Robinson was aware of Gregory before the first-round tie and believes the 25-year-old could fit into his side's style of play. "I knew Lee was going to be a threat," Robinson told MK News. "He likes to play on the shoulder of the defender. He's talented and he's a player we're going to watch over the forthcoming weeks. "I think he could play for us. He retains the ball very well, runs channels, his work rate was phenomenal and he competed with Shaun Williams aerially. "He caused problems for Jordan Spence as well so he has the components but I've only actually seen him once. "There were a few scouts watching him as well, though, so if it gets to a bidding war we'll be out, but we'll have to see how that materialises." Gregory's goal against the Dons was his ninth of the season but he has since hit the back of the net twice more in Halifax's 4-0 home win over Hyde in the Conference on Tuesday night.
