Sky Sports understands Sheffield Wednesday defender Mark Beevers is set to sign a new two-year contract at Hillsborough. The 22-year-old came through the youth ranks at the South Yorkshire club and penned his first professional deal in 2007. Beevers spent the first half of last season on loan at MK Dons before returning to help the Owls achieve promotion to the Championship. He has been rewarded with the offer of a new deal and the youngster is poised to commit his future to the club. His stay provides a boost to Wednesday as they prepare for life in the second tier.
