Blackpool boss wishes Taylor-Fletcher had kept striker a secret

Ian Holloway is excited about what Robbie Fowler might have to offer Blackpool, but wishes Gary Taylor-Fletcher had kept the former Liverpool striker's arrival to himself. The ex-England international is currently training with the Seasiders and remains in negotiations over a possible deal until the end of the season. Tangerines forward and boyhood Reds fan Taylor-Fletcher took to his personal Twitter page to proclaim the 36-year-old's presence at the club's Squires Gate base and, although Holloway shares his excitement, he would have preferred the news to be kept under wraps. The Blackpool boss has previously admitted that Fowler could have other options and he does not want to let the fans down by failing to push through a deal.

Nice surprise

"I hope what Rob wants in his life suits what we want then we might be able to move on for at least 10 weeks," he said. "Deary me, some of the things he's done in training already I'm getting excited about. "But I wish Taylor-Fletcher hadn't twittered anybody, what a nonsense that thing is. Keep it in house, it makes it easier for all of us. "It would have been a nice surprise for our fans. If we don't get him now I reckon we've let down God knows how many people."
