Striker boost for Pool

Blackpool have been handed a boost with the news that Gary Taylor-Fletcher's knee injury is not as serious as first feared.

Scans show injury is just bruising

Blackpool have been handed a boost with the news that Gary Taylor-Fletcher's knee injury is not as serious as first feared. Taylor-Fletcher was stretchered off in last weekend's FA Cup defeat by Everton after clashing with Toffees goalkeeper Tim Howard. It was initially thought Taylor-Fletcher may have suffered ligament damage, but those fears have subsided after a scan revealed it is only bone bruising. Blackpool boss Ian Holloway is hoping Taylor-Fletcher can make a speedy recovery after he missed Tuesday's 4-1 home defeat by West Ham. "It's bone bruising and sometimes that can be absolutely lethal because it takes ages to clear," manager Ian Holloway told the club's official website. "Hopefully it doesn't [take long to clear], because he's sorely missed."
