Simeon Jackson did not want to take the plaudits after his late equaliser earned Norwich a point against Fulham on New Year's Eve.
The forward's header in the fourth minute of injury time cancelled out Orlando Sa's first-half opener and ensured Paul Lambert's Canaries avoided finishing 2011 with a defeat.
Despite last season scoring 13 goals as Norwich were promoted from the Championship, Jackson has started just one Premier League game out of 10 appearances.
The 24-year-old was a substitute against Fulham, but he was pleased to score his second top-flight goal after earlier in December netting against Wolves.
Jackson, though, acknowledged 10th-placed Norwich's success is built on collaboration.
"Every footballer in the country wants to be playing, but you have to keep going and wait for your chance," he told
Sky Sports.
"(But) it is a collective effort. We have to keep going and hopefully we will be in an alright position towards the end of the season."
He also said: "It is a team effort and any time someone comes off the bench, you are looking to get goals.
"It is about everyone, like the gaffer has mentioned, and we just have to keep it going now."
