MK Dons manager Karl Robinson says the club rejected a bid for striker Jermaine Easter on transfer deadline day.

Easter scored 19 goals for the Dons last season and was the subject of a late move from an unnamed Championship club which Robinson slammed as "disrespectful".

He said: "There was an official bid for Jermaine but it was a 'no' from me. I thought it was poor, extremely poor.

"I think we got a phonecall at 11 o'clock. I'd do well to find a player of Jermaine Easter's quality within four or five hours.

"They must have known they wanted him before that and if he was that important to them I'm sure he would have been at the top of their list or it would have been done at the start of the summer.

"He must have been top of the list if they tried to unsettle a player on the last day. I find it very disrespectful, but that's how people do their business. You've got to accept it and learn from that. It was a good day for me because I saw how uneasy people can make your job and I was pleased that I won that battle."
