Wolves boss must sell before he buys amid N'Daw speculation

Wolves boss Mick McCarthy insists he must sell before he buys amid speculation linking him with Guirane N'Daw. The 26-year-old St Etienne midfielder is being strongly linked to Wolves as McCarthy seeks to keep his side in the top-flight once again. But McCarthy - who has previously confirmed that Stefan Maierhofer is up for sale - insists he must first reduce his squad before he adds to it. The Wolves boss told the Birmingham Mail: "Somebody will have to go before I do any other business, so that will be it unless we do anything else outgoing." While aiming to get a more senior pro out the door, McCarthy insists he will block any attempt to get his star rookies out on loan. "I've no desire to let any of them out on loan. I know we let Nat Mendez Laing go to Peterborough but that was a youth loan," said McCarthy, who was speaking after his side's 4-0 friendly win at Walsall. "Danny Batth and Scott Malone were away on loan last season. I was really pleased with them last night and they got better as the game went on. Scott got tougher and Danny is a big powerful lad who did well at Colchester." Meanwhile, McCarthy expects defender Ronald Zubar to be back soon from an ankle injury picked up in Ireland. "He will be alright, he is not going to be a long time. He's not done any damage to it. He's strained his ligaments but there is no lasting damage and he's feeling a lot better," said McCarthy, who added Steven Mouyokolo should also return from injury next week.
