Norwich manager Bryan Gunn has ruled out signing former team-mate Andy Marshall to solve his goalkeeping crisis.
The veteran shot-stopper, who was a product of the Canaries youth system before replacing Gunn as No.1 at Carrow Road, is a free agent after leaving Coventry.
Gunn, though, will not be offering the 34-year-old a deal as he looks to bolster his squad following David Marshall's move to Cardiff.
He told The Pink 'Un: "Andy is someone I know and I spoke to him in the summer on a different subject, but my thoughts are that he is not one I'm looking to progress."
Gunn is also looking for attacking reinforcements and a permanent move for Crystal Palace striker Alan Lee, who spent time on loan with Norwich last season, is a possibility.
The Canaries are keen for firepower to earn an immediate return to the Championship and, after talking with Palace boss Neil Warnock, Gunn is hopeful the club can raise the necessary funds.

"I did speak to Neil while I was on holiday and that (Lee) was the subject of the conversation," he added. "We were aware of Neil's thoughts and now the public is too.
"It is one of many things we are hoping to talk about and progress in the coming weeks and if there is something that can be done on it then it will work out.
"The player wants to come here; we need to make sure that, financially, we can compete."
Norwich are also looking to add new faces in midfield and have offered Cambridge City player Scott Neilson a trial, with the non-league club prepared to sell.
Manager Gary Roberts said: "A sale could bring in some player funds. Ever since I've been here we've sold players and moved them on to a higher level at a bigger club."
