Nottingham Forest have snapped up Manchester United winger Lee Martin on loan.
The 21-year-old is tipped for a bright future at Old Trafford but he does not figure in Sir Alex Ferguson's plans for the start of the new season.
A number of Championship clubs had been keen to strike a temporary deal with United for Martin's services.
Sheffield United were seen as frontrunners after Martin spent the second half of last season at Bramall Lane, while Birmingham were also thought to be interested.
However, Forest have now won the chase and Martin will go straight into Colin Calderwood's squad for the Carling Cup clash against Morecambe on Wednesday evening.
He could make his league debut for Forest against Swansea at the weekend and will stay at the City Ground for one month.
Martin has also had loan spells at Plymouth, Stoke, Rangers and Royal Antwerp in his career.
Martin has yet to make an appearance for Manchester United in the Premier League but he played a big part in the club's pre-season programme and scored against Orlando Pirates in the Vodacom Challenge.
