Millwall have been dealt an injury blow by the news that midfielder Jody Morris has fractured his cheekbone.

The former Chelsea, Leeds United and Rotherham United player sustained the injury in training on Friday morning, as Millwall prepared to face London rivals Crystal Palace at The Den.

The 27-year-old's injury was accidental, but Morris needed an operation to treat the facial bone fracture on Friday evening.

With his recovery likely to be anywhere from six to eight weeks, The Lions face the prospect of not being able to call on his services for the rest of the season.

With the South East London club facing a relegation battle until the season's end, manager David Tuttle will be disappointed not to have Morris available for a crucial stage of the campaign.
