GRAHAM TAYLOR has said he will not make any moves to sign long-term targets Steven Reid and Tim Cahill from Millwall until after the World Cup.

The Aston Villa boss has had his representatives at The New Den in recent weeks to watch the two midfielders, but says he will not make a move until he knows the impact the collapse of the ITV Digital deal will have on Nationwide clubs.

"The digital fiasco has caused a lot of people to step back and say hold on a minute," Taylor said.

"You are also getting clubs looking at First Division players saying hold on, do we need to pay that amount of money or are we just going to bail out a First Division club by paying money now?

"A lot of things, not just at Aston Villa, are on hold at the present time and that's why I think it will be after the World Cup when things start to release and go forward."
