Doncaster midfielder Paul Keegan has signed a three-year contract extension with the club.

Rovers boss Paul Dickov revealed following Tuesday night's Capital One Cup win at Watford that Keegan - and fellow midfielder Richie Wellens - had both agreed new deals and that he expected them to actually put pen to paper later in the week. Keegan, 30, who has been playing on a short-term contract so far this season, has now done that and Wellens should follow shortly. "Paul Keegan deserves a lot of credit," said Dickov. "He's stuck by us and believed what I was telling him. He's believed in what we're trying to do here. "Playing the way he's played, with only a month's contract and no real security at the end of it, is a real credit to Paul. He deserves his three years. He's a top, top pro." Wellens is due to sign a two-year contract. The 34-year-old activated a relegation release clause in his previous deal but now looks set to see out the remainder of his career at Doncaster.
