Confidence is key for Woods

Goalkeeper Gary Woods believes self-confidence is the reason he has been able to cement a regular starting spot at Doncaster.

The 22-year-old has been an ever-present for high-flying Rovers so far this campaign, keeping nine clean sheets in 28 games. Woods made his debut aged just 18 in 2009 and thinks that a firm confidence in his own ability has ensured he has progressed to become manager Dean Saunders' number one. He told the club's official website: "Everyone looks at it like, 'He's a young goalkeeper,' but I had self-belief - if you don't believe in yourself you won't get very far. "I've always had confidence in my own ability. Last season I didn't really get a run in the team which is always hard for a goalkeeper at any level. "This season Dean has given me a run of games and hopefully I'm repaying him with my performances."
