Leicester captain Richie Wellens will miss the start of the season and it is likely to be October before he returns to action after knee surgery.
The 32-year-old was carried off in the final home game of last season against West Ham United after suffering cruciate ligament damage.
Foxes boss Nigel Pearson is already looking forward to welcoming back his talismanic midfielder as he continues working his way back to fitness.
"Richie is doing very well," said Pearson. "He's making very good progress.
"This is the first major injury he has had in his career. He's worked very hard during the summer and is on schedule.
"He won't make the start of the campaign. Initially, after his operation, we were looking at October time and he is still on track for that at the moment.
"I'm not going to put a deadline on that, but he is doing very well."
