James Coppinger has suggested he would be interested in a move to Ipswich Town following Doncaster Rovers' relegation from the Championship.
The midfielder is under contract at the Keepmoat Stadium until 2014, but is tipped to leave Rovers after the club dropped into League One.
He was a target for Ipswich last summer and reports have claimed that Town boss Paul Jewell will make a fresh attempt to sign the 31-year-old.
Coppinger is keen to play at the highest level possible and is open-minded regarding the prospect of a switch to Portman Road.
Big decision
"I think Ipswich is a great club. I have some friends who have played at Ipswich in the past and they speak highly of the club and the place," he told the
East Anglian Daily Times.
"With them being in the Championship and an ambitious club, it is always somewhere you would look to go.
"At this stage in my career and life, it wouldn't put me off moving to Suffolk. You just want to play at the highest standard you can for as long as you can.
"It was on the cards last season. It was a big decision for me, I knew Paul Jewell was interested and I spoke with the chairman - but it wasn't to be."
