Frank assessment from Clark

Huddersfield's fringe players blew their big chance in Saturday's FA Cup defeat at Swindon, according to manager Lee Clark.

Clark made seven changes for the first-round tie at the County Ground, with the likes of Jamie McCombe, Gary Naysmith, Donal McDermott and Anton Robinson hoping to stake their claims. But after a 4-1 defeat to League Two opposition, Clark was far from impressed. Clark told the club's official website: "I said earlier in the week this was a great opportunity for the players to give me a selection headache for Notts County and I know in my mind how many people have enhanced their reputation. "We're extremely disappointed and the players are disappointed with themselves." Clark added: "They're still good players, but everybody who played has probably edged themselves a little bit further away from the team than they were at 3pm. They all still have a part to play, though - we just need to get them up and running again."
