Abbott: Owls were chasing shadows

Proud Carlisle manager Greg Abbott revelled in his side's best performance of the season after they saw off Sheffield Wednesday 3-2.

After ex-Cumbrians loanee Ben Marshall had given the Owls a first-half lead, goals from Lee Miller, Rory Loy and Liam Noble just after half-time left the visitors reeling. Rob Jones headed home a late consolation but Gary Madine was dismissed against his former employers as the Owls' seven-game unbeaten run came to an end. Abbott said: "We got out of jail and put them in it. At times we had them chasing shadows. That eclipsed our best performance by some way, and I'm as proud as I have ever been as a manager. "I thought we deserved it. Lee Miller was massive and Rory Loy did well. We are a tidy little club doing the right things."
