Midfielder to remain with Doncaster until 2014

James Coppinger has penned a new contract at Doncaster that will keep him at the club until 2014. The midfielder is Rovers' longest serving player and will now take his association with the club to the 10-year mark. During his time with Doncaster, the 30-year-old has started over 250 games and scored more than 30 goals. He has also helped the club win promotion to the Championship and land the Football League Trophy. There had been a suggestion that Coppinger would opt to leave the Keepmoat Stadium this summer, with Ipswich reported to be keen on acquiring his services. He has, however, decided to commit his future to Doncaster and will form part of Sean O'Driscoll's squad in 2011/12.
