Leicester City midfielder Richie Wellens has set his sights on leading the side back to the Premier League after signing a new deal.
As revealed by skysports.com last week, Wellens has pledged his future to the club by signing a new long-term deal to keep him at the Walkers Stadium until 2014.
The former Manchester United trainee is delighted to extend his stay at Leicester and he believes the future is bright at the club.
"This is a club with a big future that wants to get back in the Premier League," Wellens told the club's official website.
"I'm delighted that I'll have the chance to be part of that."
Foxes boss Sven Goran Eriksson is a big admirer of Wellens and is happy to have resolved the playmaker's future.
"Richie is a fantastic player, a true professional," noted Eriksson.
"Technically, he is second-to-none. He is quick, has great skill and vision and when he plays well, we play well.
"Richie is part of the heartbeat of the team and I believe that there is more to come from him in the future."
