Young Rovers midfielder accepts one-year extension

Young Doncaster midfielder Craig Nelthorpe will remain at the club next season after signing a new one-year deal. The 21-year-old only made four appearances for Rovers last term before being sent on loan to Halifax and Darlington. The talented left-sided player was out of contract at the Keepmoat Stadium at the end of last season but was offered a new deal by manager Sean O'Driscoll following the club's promotion to the Coca-Cola Championship. Nelthorpe, who made his Doncaster debut in 2005, has now committed himself to Rovers until the summer of 2009 and will be hoping to force his way into O'Driscoll's first-team plans next season. The home-grown product was the final out-of-contract member of Rovers' promotion-winning squad to pledge his future to the club.
