Kiwi ace to leave Rovers

Dave Mulligan is poised to leave Doncaster after being placed on the transfer list.

Dave Mulligan is poised to leave Doncaster Rovers after being placed on the transfer list.

The defender only linked up with Dave Penney's side in February and he has made 12 appearances for the League One club this season.

But despite his regular appearances for Rovers, Penney has deemed the New Zealand international is surplus to requirements.

Doncaster confirmed the former Barnsley stopper can leave Belle Vue after Penney opted to axe the 22-year-old from his plans.

"We feel we don't want him here," said a club spokesman.

"He has not been in the side and we can't keep 30 players in the squad happy.

"We have a big squad and he is surplus to requirements."
