Doncaster Rovers boss Steve Penney has moved to bolster his promotion hopes with the signing of Adebayo Akinfenwa.
The pacey forward impressed in a reserve-team game last week and has now been handed a contract until the end of the season.
Akinfenwa has previously played for Rushden, Barry Town, Boston United and most recently, Leyton Orient.
The talented forward becomes Penney's second capture of the week, joining New Zealand international David Mulligan at Belle Vue.
Mulligan, a young midfielder, joins Rovers on a week-to-week deal after failing to land a contract at Sheffield United.
Meanwhile, Martin Drury and Chris Dickman has both been released from their contracts at Belle Vue and both have joined former Donny player Bryan Craig at non-league side Gainsborough Trinity.
