FORMER Hibernian defender Paul Hilland is training with Division Three new boys Doncaster Rovers, with a view to securing a contract at the club.

The 19-year-old began his career at Hibs in 2001 but, after failing to secure a first-team place, found himself on loan at Cowdenbeath early in January this year.

The Scot was eventually released by Hibs boss Bobby Williamson at the end of last season, after making just three appearances for the Easter Road club.

Now he is looking to kick-start his career at Belle Vue and will be trying to impress Rovers manager Dave Penney (pictured) as pre-season training gets underway.

If Hilland does win a contract at the club he will join new signings Leo Fortune-West and John McGrath in the Rovers squad, who recently put pen-to-paper on their deals.
