Moore: Football a cruel game

Hartlepool manager Ronnie Moore said former club Tranmere will find it "so tough" to get back into the Football League.

Moore, who led Pools to an unlikely survival, is "gutted" Rovers were relegated but insists they would still be in League One had they not sacked him. Tranmere sacked manager Moore in April 2014 after he had admitted breaking the Football Association's betting rules, but the 62-year-old returned to management eight months later with Hartlepool and pulled off 'Mission Impossible'. "Everybody knows my situation with Tranmere," Moore said. "Am I happy that Tranmere have been relegated? Am I hell. "I had a dispute with one person at the club, not the club itself. "The decision made (to sack me) was a wrong one and I honestly believe they would be in League One if I was still there. "I'm gutted for them going down. It will be so tough for them to come straight back up. "It's a cruel game. Life can be cruel. Decisions are made all the time, some are right and some are wrong, but I'm not looking back anymore. "After what we've achieved at Hartlepool this season - we were 10 points adrift of safety soon after I came in - all my energy will be focused on making sure we're up at the other end of the table next season."
