New manager Micky Adams has added another attacking player to Tranmere's ranks with Cardiff's Danny Johnson moving to Prenton Park on a one-month loan.

Adams only officially took charge of bottom-of-the-table Rovers on Monday but, after scoring just two goals in their last eight league fixtures, he has now signed Johnson and Chesterfield's Armand Gnanduillet in his first 48 hours in the job.

Johnson, 21, moved to south Wales over the summer after a goal-laden spell in non-league football with Guisborough.

He scored 56 goals in 61 games for them and Adams told Tranmere's official website: "Danny was prolific for Guisborough last season and deserved his move to Cardiff.

"He's a fantastic goalscorer who will be a real threat for us. Hopefully we can get him among the goals as quickly as possible."
