Ramsbottom joins Witton Albion

Teenage goalkeeper Sam Ramsbottom has joined non-league outfit Witton Albion on loan from Tranmere Rovers.

The League One club recently signed Peter Brezovan to back up first-choice stopper Owain Fon Williams, opening up the possibility Ramsbottom would be sent out on a short-term deal. And, after signing his first professional contract at Prenton Park earlier this year, he has now moved to Witton on a one-month loan. "Sam is at a stage in his development where he needs to be playing regular games," manager Rob Edwards told the club's official website. "Getting experience of competitive football will help him progress and give him valuable time on the pitch."
