Tranmere Rovers midfielder Jake Kirby has signed a two-year contract extension at Prenton Park.

The 20-year-old was already under contract for next season but has now agreed to stay at Prenton Park until the summer of 2017. Kirby finished the season having played 35 times having previously made his debut on the final day of the 2011/12 season. Football operations director Mick Horton told the club's official website: "We are determined to bring through young players at Tranmere Rovers and we feel Jake has great potential. "The fact he is willing to commit his next three years to Tranmere is an indication that he feels this is the best place for him to develop his talent. "Jake understands the new direction the club is taking and wants to be a part of the exciting times ahead."
