Rovers set for Ridehalgh

Tranmere will sign Huddersfield defender Liam Ridehalgh on a permanent deal on Friday having already signed him on loan.

The Sky Bet League One club also confirmed that they have agreed one-month loan deals with Everton and Fulham respectively to bring in Matthew Pennington and Stephen Arthurworrey. Ridehalgh, 22, had been on loan with Rovers but that contract expired after Sunday's defeat at Sheffield United. Although boss Ronnie Moore had spoken of his desire to keep Ridehalgh at Prenton Park for the rest of the season, he was ready to admit defeat in that quest with the Terriers seemingly unwilling to allow him out on loan again. A compromise appears to have now been reached, though, with the player set to complete his transfer later his week. Moore has several defenders already missing for the game with Wolves so Ridehalgh has agreed terms for a short-term loan which will allow him to play on January 1. Both Pennington and Arthurworrey are also available to Moore at Prenton Park.
