Goodison keen to keep going

Evergreen Tranmere defender Ian Goodison claims he is not contemplating retirement just yet, despite turning 41 in November.

The Jamaican centre-back, capped over 100 times by his country, will celebrate 10 years at Prenton Park next February and in an interview with The Independent claims he wants sprint sensation Usain Bolt and cricket's Chris Gayle to feature in a testimonial match. And, after becoming a mainstay once more in the heart of Rovers' defence this season, Goodison has no desire to hang up his boots either. "The other day a player came over and said, 'When are you going to retire?'. "I was like 'I don't even know because I'm still having you lads. The minute you start running past me, I will know. "I don't see any reason to retire. I know I'm getting old but I'm still playing 90 minutes."
