Tranmere are hopeful veteran defender Ian Goodison will not miss any action with his hamstring injury.

The 40-year-old helped to stabilise one of Sky Bet League One's leakiest defences when boss Ronnie Moore handed him his first start of the season in a defensive reshuffle against Bolton in the Capital One Cup.

Rovers had conceded 13 times in five games but, in the four games Goodison has started since, they have been breached just three times and have recorded back-to-back clean sheets in the league.

So when Goodison came off with a hamstring injury in the goalless draw with Stevenage at the weekend, Rovers supporters were understandably concerned.

However, assistant manager John McMahon told Tranmere Player: "Goody came off with a bit of a hamstring injury. I don't think it's anything too serious so he should be available for the weekend game."

There is, though, less positive news on Andy Robinson, Jason Koumas, James Wallace and Jake Kirby with all four set to be sidelined with injury once again against high-flying Brentford.
